Facts and Figures

Natural hazards in Ghana are dry, dusty, harmattan winds, which occur from January to March. Current environmental issues are severe droughts affecting agricultural activities, deforestation, overgrazing, soil erosion, water pollution, and inadequate supplies of drinking water.

Work is scarce. The estimated unemployment rate is 50%, and the current inflation rate is 40.5%. The external debt of the country is currently 5.8 billion.

Spirit of the Living God, Bless the work of our hands, our minds, our hearts. May our work be a reflection of all that is good within us. In dreaming - planning - creating - doing. Grant us courage to patiently listen to the stirring of your presence. Grace us with joyful moments in the midst of our struggles. Keep our spirit alive. Fill us with reverence for one another and gratitude for our diversity. Nourish our spirit with the awareness that together we can accomplish much. May raising the standard of living for the poor, by educating, feeding, and healing, be the fruit of our labor. Amen.
